The head of NATO called the destruction of the Kakhovka dam “an outrageous act”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday called the destruction of Ukraine’s Kakhovka Dam an “outrageous act”, saying it showed the brutality of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

“The destruction of the Kakhovka dam today puts thousands of civilians at risk and causes serious damage to the environment,” Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter.

“This is an outrageous act that once again demonstrates the brutality of Russia’s war in Ukraine,” he added.

Ukraine on Tuesday accused Russia of destroying a dam located in the Kherson region (south), one of four that Moscow declared annexed on September 30, 2022, seven months after invading the neighboring country.

Russia accused Ukrainian forces of destroying a dam on the Dnieper.
