Feirense reported this Wednesday that the club’s SAD is preventing senior, under-19 and under-18 teams from accessing the stadium and training facility, while the organization has not repaid a €700,000 debt accumulated since 2018.
The information is contained in a letter that Lusa had access to, which the management of this club in the Aveiro region, currently playing in Liga II, sent to SAD and its investor partner, Tavistock – Global Resources Limited, as well as the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP).
In said document, the indication of the blue and white club reads: “Given the clear and repeated failure to comply with the obligations [da SAD e da Tavistock]Clube Desportivo Feirense will object to its obligation to transfer its facilities to host any training or official games of teams owned by SAD.”
This closing of the doors is the culmination of a relationship that has been deteriorating since 2018, after a share purchase agreement was signed in 2015 that saw the club receive 30% of the company that manages the brand’s stake. competitions and where Tavistock spent the remaining 70%.
The club’s management says that over the past three years, “it has done everything to eliminate the consistent violations of the SAD in relation to contractual obligations” in this business, but ensures that until now these efforts have always been “broken”.
In a letter sent this Wednesday, Feirense justifies its decision by pointing out three shortcomings: “Tavistock has never deposited a contractual guarantee on behalf of SAD and has not executed any other form of guarantee”, there are seven invoices “overdue and unpaid by SAD, which are on total amount of EUR 484,210.6” and “to settle the amount related to the work already performed in the amount of EUR 145,000”.
In addition to these non-compliances, there are also those regarding UEFA funds for the development of training in the sport in Santa Maria da Feira.
“SAD has never transferred to the club any of the amounts it received annually. [da UEFA](…) which led to the impoverishment of the Clube Desportivo Feirense and the subsequent enrichment without explaining the reasons for the SAD itself,” the document says.
