Heat wave in northern India kills at least 98 people

At least 98 people have died and more than 450 have been treated in hospitals due to heat waves that have gripped the Indian states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the north of the country.

In Balia, the worst-hit municipality in Uttar Pradesh, 54 people (23 on Thursday, 20 on Friday and 11 on Saturday) died with temperatures above 42ºC due to dehydration or preexisting health conditions exacerbated by the heat, Europa Press reported. , which quotes the Indian channel NDTV.
