Westminster Abbey opened its doors this Monday at 8:00 a.m. (local time) to allow the entrance of the participants in the State Funeral of Elizabeth II, which will start at 11:00 a.m. (noon in the Basque Country) .
Before the doors open, the Royal Guard has been stationed in the surroundings, with two soldiers placed at the metal door for the start of the proceedings, according to the British newspaper ‘The Guardian’.
London hosts this Monday a unprecedented state funeral, which will bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth II,, who died at the age of 96 after more than seven decades as sovereign of the United Kingdom. The Elizabethan era will, in this way, have its definitive end —after 11 days of mourning— with this funeral after the massive attendance at the burning chapel in the Palace of Westminster and in an armored city.

This is the scheduled agenda for the day:
7:30 a.m.. Closing of the funeral chapel of Elizabeth II in the Palace of Westminster.
9:00 a.m.. Those attending the funeral service, which is attended by 500 leaders from around the world, begin to arrive at Westminster Abbey.
11:44 a.m.. The coffin of Elizabeth II leaves the seat of the British Parliament and goes in funeral procession towards the abbey. The new King Carlos III and his three brothers -Ana, Andrés and Eduardo-, as well as his children, Princes Guillermo and Enrique, will walk after the mortal remains of the sovereign.
12:00 noon. The religious ceremony begins, before some 2,000 guests, officiated by the Dean of Westminster, David Hoyle. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will deliver a sermon and British Prime Minister Liz Truss will read a religious text.
12:55 p.m.. A bugle call will mark the beginning of a two-minute silence that will be observed across the UK.
1:15 p.m.. The coffin will leave the funeral procession from the abbey to Wellington Arch, in the south-east corner of Hyde Park. Big Ben, the famous bell in the tower of the Palace of Westminster, will ring at one-minute intervals during the procession.
2:00 p.m.. The mortal remains of the sovereign will be transferred to a hearse to make her last trip to Windsor Castle, about 35 kilometers west of London.
4:00 p.m.. The coffin arrives in the vicinity of the castle. A procession on foot will travel the 5 kilometers of the Long Walk, the characteristic tree-lined avenue that leads to the royal residence.
5:00 p.m.. The remains of Elizabeth II enter the castle’s St George’s Chapel, where some 800 guests attend a religious ceremony officiated by the Dean of Windsor, David Coney. At the end of the service, the coffin will be transferred to the royal crypt of the chapel, where the remains of Prince Philip, the queen’s husband, who died in 2021 at the age of 99, are also buried.
8:30 p.m.. Elizabeth II will be buried next to Prince Philip in a private ceremony in the chapel of San Jorge, which will be attended by members of the royal family. The marble slab of her grave will be engraved with the words: “Elizabeth II 1926-2022.”
