The US embassy in Madrid, Spain, was isolated by police this Thursday after a suspicious package was found in the building, La voz de Galícia newspaper reported. If it is confirmed that this is an envelope with explosives, then this will be the sixth such situation in the last two days.
The European Commission views the wave of attacks as “very serious and serious incidents” but refuses to “speculate” on possible motives.
Also this Thursday, a suspicious envelope was discovered at the Torrejon de Ardoz air base, and the Interior Ministry said that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez received a package of “pyrotechnic” materials on November 24.
On Wednesday, the official was wounded when a letter he was dealing with exploded in the Ukrainian embassy. The second package was found in a Spanish arms company. The national police were called to the Instalaza company in the city of Zaragoza, Aragon region (northeast Spain), and they caused a controlled explosion of the artifact that was in the envelope.
