Second night of clashes in France after police shot and killed a teenager who didn’t stop during Operation STOP

Protesters fired fireworks at police and set fire to cars in Nanterre, Paris, France, hours after President Emmanuel Macron lamented the “unforgivable” death of a 17-year-old during an operation on Wednesday.

The death of an African-American teenager has sparked complaints of police brutality in the ethnically diverse suburbs of France’s largest cities.

According to Reuters, several overturned cars burned down on Avenida Pablo Picasso in Nanterre. Police clashed with protesters in the northern French city of Lille and in Toulouse. There were also riots in Amiens, Dijon and in the administrative department of Essoney, south of the French capital.
