Couple arrested at home continue to deal drugs in Coimbra

A pair of drug dealers were sentenced by a Coimbra court to real prison terms of five and a half and four years for being caught committing a crime while locked in an electronically monitored home. The defendants even had an armored door, in order, according to the prosecution, to safely develop business and complicate the actions of the police.

A 58-year-old man, who is now facing the most severe sentence, and a 62-year-old woman have been serving sentences for human trafficking in self-isolation since the end of 2020. Despite their convictions, they continued to sell drugs – cocaine and heroin – from home. The order states that despite having no legal income, they managed to raise enough money to renovate the apartment, buy furniture and an expensive car.
