Seoul Mayor Oh Se Hoon has instructed city officials to do everything possible to prevent accidents as rainfall of up to 400mm is forecast across the country, including the capital, the Seoul Agency reported. Yonhap News on July 13.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said heavy rains are expected in the country on July 15. In particular, in the provinces of South Chungcheong and North Jeolla, showers with more than 400 mm of precipitation are expected during the day.
The southern parts of Gyeonggi Province, the inland and mountainous regions of southern Gangwon Province, and the northern Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang regions could also see more than 300mm of rain, according to the report.
The weather agency also said the wider metropolitan area and parts of Gangwon province are forecast to experience heavy rainfall of up to 80mm per hour between July 13 and the morning of July 14. Rainfall of up to 150mm is forecast in Seoul through July 14.
