an earthquake of preliminary magnitude 7.4 has shaken this Monday the center of Mexico just on the day of the anniversaries of the earthquakes of September 19, 1985 and 2017considered the two most destructive in recent history in the country.
The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has confirmed the first death that the earthquake has left. A person has died by the fall of a wall.
The earthquake occurred at 1:05 p.m. with an epicenter located 63 kilometers south of Coalcoman in the state of Michoacanwestern Mexico, according to preliminary information from the National Seismological Service (SSN) of Mexico.
The phenomenon has taken place less than an hour after the national macro drill organized to commemorate the earthquakes of September 19, 1985 and 2017.
“The emergency protocols were activated due to the earthquake registered this afternoon in Michoacán. Civil Protection of Michoacán remains alert,” the government of that state, where the epicenter has been located, reported on Twitter.
