Spanish police intercepted a new batch of parcels with animal eyes addressed to Ukrainian embassies in Spain. This time, the parcels did not reach their destination, as they were detected by postal security systems.
According to the Spanish newspaper Vanguardthree suspicious packets were intercepted on Monday morning and were addressed to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and the country’s consulates in Barcelona and Malaga.
The Spanish police were immediately informed and, after analyzing the packages, ruled out the presence of explosives, but found that they contained the eyes of animals.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko has already confirmed the seizure of three parcels, bringing the number of cases of threats against Ukrainian diplomatic missions in 12 countries to 21.
The sending of these packages is being investigated in parallel with letters with explosives, which were received, in particular, by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
