Seven Ural doctors received certificates in the specialty “Medical Microbiology” on July 16, the press service of the government of the Sverdlovsk region reports.

As a result of the first stage of specialized professional retraining, medical workers of the Ural Federal District received for the first time comprehensive knowledge in four areas: virology, parasitology, bacteriology, mycology.

Natalia Kochneva, an independent senior specialist of the Russian Ministry of Health in medical microbiology of the Urals Federal District, noted that she had no doubts about the opportunity to train specialists in a new specialty.

“There is no doubt about the timing of the introduction of this specialty, given the emergence of new and re-emerging pathogens of infectious diseases, the rapid spread of epidemics, the threatening spread of resistance of microorganisms to antimicrobial drugs, and the increasing danger. of bioterrorism”she said.
