Boaventura accuses Liselotte Viane, the woman who accused him of sexual harassment, of “revenge” for being expelled from the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES), but the Center refutes this claim, promotes news diary.
CES clarifies that in June 2018, a disciplinary process was initiated against Liselotte Viane, but it was not completed. The researcher’s employment contract was terminated “due to the expiration of the term, as it has expired,” Centro de Estudos told the newspaper.
“The contract between CES and Doctor Lieselotte Viaene expired on its expiration date, August 31, 2018. No disciplinary action was taken,” he adds.
In an interview in YouTubeBoaventura says the researcher vowed revenge after being “kicked” out of CES.
Recall that Boaventura was accused of sexual harassment by three researchers, former students of CES. The three women described their experiences in a chapter of Sexual Misconduct in the Academy, published in English by Routledge.
When Boaventura reacted to the scandal stated that she was the victim of “anonymous, shameful and vile defamation by the three authors”. At the time, the honorary director added that the article “regarding its main author, Liselotte Viene, is a pitiful act of institutional and personal revenge” and that the information was based on “rumors”.
