Youth unemployment fell 0.3% in July from the previous month to 27,609, the second-lowest on record, but overall unemployment rose 2.4%, according to the Institute for Employment and Training (IEFP) published this Monday.
“In July, youth unemployment fell down the chain (-0.3%) from the previous month, settling at the second lowest level ever (27,609 young people registered with the IEFP), second only to July 2022. when the historical minimum of youth unemployment will be reached,” the institute said in a statement.
In turn, overall unemployment increased by 2.4% compared to June, to 284,330 people.
However, this is the second lowest value in the month in question since the record was set.
In July, long-term unemployment increased by 2.5% compared to the previous month, but decreased by 13.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
