A young man was killed and another was injured in a skirmish this Monday in Barqueiros, Barcelos municipality, Braga district. The accident occurred on the N205 road connecting Barcelos with Povoa de Varzim.
The alarm was raised at 00:30 and Barcelinhos firefighters, supported by two ambulances and resuscitators from Barcelos and Famalicán, were mobilized to the scene.
The car in which the victims were traveling crashed into a residential building and caught fire. It was popular people who put out the flames before the arrival of aid funds.
The victims, two 21-year-olds, were trapped in a car. The young man who survived the accident was in critical condition with several fractures and was taken to Braga hospital.
Relatives of the deceased young man were at the scene and received psychological support from INEM.
The GNR Criminal Traffic Investigation Committee is investigating the circumstances under which the search took place.
