In a note published on the website of the President of the Republic, shortly after a source from the PSD revealed the information, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa reports that “as in 2018 and last year, the President of the Republic is participating in the JSD Summer University in Castelo de – Vide (Portalegre).
“Unlike what happened before, when he answered all the political questions put to him via video, in 2018 in writing, last year in direct dialogue, the president will answer personally, but on the only topic he will answer with the address will be Ukraine,” the head of state emphasizes.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will be the speaker at Wednesday’s conference dinner starting at 20:00.
Before becoming President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza participated in live editions of students’ questions in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and in 2018 he answered 30 questions in writing.
In addition to Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, former Prime Minister Duran Barroso will speak at the Summer University, organized jointly by the PSD, JSD, Instituto Francisco Sa Carneiro and the Social Democratic delegation of the European People’s Party. , former CDS-PP leader Paulo Portas, or socialist and SEFES president Alvaro Belez.
This edition, which began this Monday, is attended by 100 young people selected from 350 candidates, with 65 boys and 35 girls expected, with an average age of 21.
According to the UF website, which has been running since 2003 (with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic), out of 20 editions, 200 speakers and 2,000 students participated in this initiative, with about 500 classes.
