In Tomsk, students of school No. 41 were sent to remote classes due to sunken ground

School building number 41 in Tomsk is closed due to increased floor deviations in several classrooms, students have been sent to distance education, the press service of the mayor’s office reported on September 12.

The commission, which included representatives of the capital construction and education departments, as well as external construction experts, decided to conduct an additional inspection of the building of the educational institution to determine whether there was a threat to schoolchildren and teachers.

According to the words of Deputy Mayor Konstantin Chubenko, at school no. 41 a complete instrumental examination will be performed. As a result, the search for funds for major repairs will continue or the children will be able to return to the premises.

He added that during the exam period the classes will be distributed to nearby schools.

It was noted that school building No. 41 has been under observation by specialists since 2019. A year earlier, the extension to the building, where the gym and workshops are located, was renovated. The main building was not included in the modernization program due to the priority of other facilities.
