The number of victims of the explosion in Balashikha reached 13 people, RIA Novosti reported on September 20.
“At this moment, as a result of the incident in Balashikha, five people have died and another 13 have been injured. Of them, seven were hospitalized and given full medical care. The remaining six were examined by doctors at the scene and were denied hospitalization.”said a representative of the regional Ministry of Health.
At 8:21 a domestic gas explosion occurred in a nine-story apartment building in Balashikha. The explosion and collapse killed four residents. After rescuers began to remove the rubble, a second collapse occurred, resulting in the death of two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Currently, the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case and carried out searches at the office of the management company.
