A man in his 50s died on Saturday afternoon after falling about 50 meters while descending the stairs from a cliff leading to Aguda beach in Colares, Sintra.
According to CM As it turned out, this access was closed for two years due to danger. The man was walking and slipped on one of the steps.
The incident was alerted at 6:12 p.m., resulting in the mobilization of 14 firefighters supported by six vehicles.
When the victim was found, he was already in cardiopulmonary arrest, Colares Fire Chief Pedro Luro said.
An Air Force helicopter was mobilized, but in vain. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
