Scammers from the Netherlands decided to play on the Russian theme

The Dutch scammers, calling themselves the “Russian National Detachment,” demanded that residents of a Dutch village hang Russian flags and transfer money, NL Times reported on October 18.

In a curious recent case, residents of a Dutch village in the province of North Brabant became worried after receiving mysterious threatening letters from the alleged “Russian National Squad” organization. These letters required hanging the Russian flag on houses on the first day of each month or transferring money to a specific account.

The authors stated that they decided to respond to reports about local Ukrainians displaying Ukrainian flags in the area.

Local police became interested in this strange phenomenon and warned residents about possible fraudulent activities. They believe this case to be a scam and advise residents not to transfer money in response to such threats.

The police have launched an investigation and are urging people who have received these types of letters to report them.
