The Czech Republic, which holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), has convened an emergency meeting of member states on Monday to discuss the latest developments in the war in Ukraine after Russia announced mobilization and a nuclear threat, as announced this Friday.
At stake is a meeting of the Integrated Political Crisis Response Mechanism (IPCR), a framework that brings together Member States and EU institutions for rapid and coordinated decision-making at the political level in the face of serious and complex situations.
In a statement released this Friday by some European media outlets, including the Lusa news agency, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU indicates that it “decided to convene an IPCR meeting on Monday morning at which the permanent representatives of the EU member states.”
