Half of new cars sold by the end of October 2023 were powered by non-fossil fuel sources, such as electric and hybrid vehicles. In particular, it turned out that 17% of new passenger cars were electric, as noted this Thursday by the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP) in its report on the trade of new vehicles. In just 10 months of the year, 195,781 new cars were put into circulation, of which 126,973 were passenger cars. The market recorded a growth of 29.9% compared to the same period last year. Peugeot leads the brand table with more than 18 thousand cars sold, an increase of 34%. Renault is in second place with 13,187 vehicles, up 38% on last year. Among the statistics, Porsche stands out with 830 sports cars sold, which shows an increase of more than 40%. In the electric vehicle sector, Tesla recorded year-on-year growth of 285%, selling 6,381 vehicles.
