The pro-Russian authorities have announced a support of 07% in the illegal referendums. The Russian Senate plans to debate on October 4 the annexation of these territories
The pro-Russian authorities of the Moscow-occupied territories in Ukraine have announced that more than 97% of the voters in the referendums have supported annexation to Russia, according to the first results, which clears the way for Russia to annex these territories.
The consultations, to which Ukraine and practically the entire international community deny any legitimacy, have taken place in the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, in the east, and the territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, in the south, under the control of Russian troops.
The referendums have been carried out in the middle of the war, without democratic guarantees and under duress. Since the voting began on Friday, only today it has been possible to vote in polling stations, since the rest of the days they were carried out in improvised places or in the homes of citizens, where the pro-Russian authorities accompanied by armed soldiers went to collect votes.
Shortly before, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, had announced that the Russian legal system and the executive power are ready for the annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories.
“Our legislators, our executive branch bodies and our legal departments are now ready,” he said.
In this sense, the Russian Federation Council or Senate plans to discuss the annexation of four Ukrainian territories on October 4, according to the Senate president, Valentina Matviyenko.
