According to the statement, unions representing RTP workers submitted their demand statement on Wednesday in which they are asking for a 10 per cent increase in pay scales and other financial issues.
In a note signed by ten trade unions, the structures indicated that on the 15th they submitted “to the board of directors of the RTP a joint proposal of trade unions on a list of demands for 2024.”
This general proposal includes a “10 percent increase in salary scale and other financial matters”, an increase in food allowance, “reimbursement for overtime work” applied before the “troika”, and an increase in travel allowances, as well as work value on weekends.
The unions also want to see better reconciliation between family and work and for “equality for all workers in pay and social matters.”
According to them, the first meeting is scheduled for Monday.
This proposal was supported by the Federations of Engineers (FE) and the Trade Unions of Civil and Service Workers (Fetese), as well as the Comunicações de Portugal (Sicomp), the Democratic Workers of Postal, Telecommunications, Media and Services (Sindetelco), and the National Telecommunications and Audiovisual Workers ( Sinttav), journalists (SJ), service workers (Sitese), independent information and communications workers (SITIC), audiovisual media workers (Smav) and audiovisual and communications workers (STT).
RTP carried out successive strikes, the latest of which was flagged by Sinttav and SITIC, starting on Saturday and lasting until 28 November.
