
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will worthily celebrate the upcoming important dates of their common history associated with the Great Patriotic War on November 23 at a meeting of the Council of Collective Security (CSC) of the organization. .
Joint activities within the framework of the CSTO contribute to the unity of the countries and their peoples included in the organization, Putin noted.
“I am sure that we will all prepare to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War with dignity in 2025.”, stated the Russian leader. And in 2024 the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus and the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad will be celebrated, he added.
Let us remember that on November 23, the CSTO summit began in the Belarusian capital. Belarus will chair the organization in 2023.
The summit was attended by the leaders of four other member countries of the organization: Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Armenia, which is the sixth country in the CSTO, ignored the summit.
