According to a statement released this Saturday, TAP received the award for being the leading global airline for Africa and South America at the 30th World Travel Awards held on Friday.
The carrier said the awards, considered the Oscars of global tourism, were presented by TAP at a gala on Friday at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“The World Travel Awards presented by TAP recognize the renewal the company is undergoing and the commitment of its teams and crew to improve the travel experience for passengers,” he added in the same note.
The election of TAP “occurred through online voting by tourism and travel professionals, mainly travel agents, operators and tourism organizations from more than 100 countries, as well as the general public,” he noted.
The airline recalled that “the prizes awarded to TAP this year complement those already won in previous editions,” with the carrier being selected by the World Travel Awards as the leading global airline for Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019. , 2020, 2021 and 2022, and as the world’s leading airline in South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
At the same ceremony, Parques de Sintra-Monte da Lua (PSML) was awarded in the category “Best Conservation Company in the World” for the 11th time, after winning consecutive awards in previous competitions since 2013, according to the society.
PSML Administrator Luis Calaim, responsible for monuments such as the National Palaces of Pena, Sintra and Queluz, the Palace of Montserrat, the Convento dos Capujos and the Castle of dos Muros, was present at the ceremony, representing the society, and received the award on behalf of all employees, thanking those , who closely monitors the company’s work and celebrates it with their votes year after year.
