The court has confirmed today on its website that it will study the constitutionality of the four requests submitted in the early hours of Saturday by the head of the Kremlin.

Putin is following the same steps he took when Russia annexed the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in 2014, which also held a referendum and joined the Russian Federation after an express incorporation process.
