Four months ago, Maria Otilia Fernandez was trying to get back the clothes, furniture and appliances she left behind at her home in Marinha Grande after being the subject of an eviction order from the landlady she had been renting from since 2013.
It was from this moment that his situation began to become more complicated.
According to the complainant, the tenant and landlady signed an open-ended agreement in 2013, which was never reported to the finance department. “This was what we initially agreed on,” admitted Maria Otilia.
“She insisted, and then I told her that we would do everything properly and send me a letter. [de despejo]”, he added. “Obviously she didn’t send the letter and entered into a contract that I don’t know about, which I never signed, ending in 2021,” he said.
In 2023, more than three years after the dispute between the landlady and the tenant began, Maria Otilia received a call from a bailiff saying that she was changing the locks on her house and that she had one hour to remove your goods. “The only way he found to get me out of the house was to include the contract in the finances,” noted Maria Otilia.
She was out of town at the time and asked her ex-husband and eldest daughter to remove everything that was in her youngest daughter’s room. Maria Otilia was left with only the clothes that were on her body, and she never again saw the goods that cost her tens of thousands of euros to purchase. “Everything in this house was mine, except the refrigerator,” he lamented.
After being evicted, Maria Otilia temporarily stayed with several friends who helped her. The daughter remains with family members. Meanwhile, the house is already for sale online.
The goods were delivered to him on Tuesday, in garbage bags and without any conditions, as a result of which a new complaint has already been filed in court.
