The Parliament of Iran has met this Sunday behind closed doors to discuss the social crisis that the country is going through after the death of a woman after being arrested for wearing the veil incorrectly.
Before closing the doors, the President of Parliament, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, acknowledged that the intention of this session is to altering the manners and conduct of the religious police Iranian.
Likewise, he has assured that he will evaluate a possible mmodification of the police method morale, to prevent incidents like the death of Mahsa Amini from happening again.
Since Amini died on September 16, there have been strong protests in many cities across the country calling for more freedoms. Protesters shout slogans against the country’s theocratic system, hundreds of people have been arrested and, according to Iran’s state television, they have caused 41 deaths, a number that the NGOs raise to 83.
