Anti-terrorist measures on the territory of the Kingdom of Spain will be strengthened during the New Year holidays, the press service of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior announced on the department’s website on December 11.
The press service highlighted that the reinforced measures will be in force from December 18, 2023 to January 10, 2024.
As reported by the press service, the Spanish Ministry of the Interior decided to increase the presence of police on the streets of the country during the New Year holidays as part of anti-terrorist measures.
According to the press service, the ministry “has decided to reinforce the police units planned at the current level” terrorist threat, taking into account that during the Christmas holidays numerous events and various mass events are held, the number of trips also increases, as well as various types of religious events.
Let us remember that it has already been reported that Spain has currently declared the fourth level of terrorist threat out of five possible, while the kingdom periodically reports arrests of alleged extremists.
