David Crosby, co-founder Crosby, Stills and Nashdied this Thursday at the age of 81 from a long illness.
The death of the musician was confirmed to the magazine by a woman. Diversity.
“With great sadness, after a long illness, our beloved David Crosby died. He was surrounded by the love of his family,” the statement said.
The musician was born in California, USA on August 14, 1941. In 1968 he joined the folk-rock band Crosby, Stills and Nash along with Stephen Stills, Graham Nash. Neil Young later joined the group.
The musical group was quite successful, with a focus on singles “Almost cut off my hair” and “deja vu“, but broke up due to internal wars in 1986.
In 2021, the musician and guitarist released his latest solo album called Free.
Crosby struggled with drug addiction for many years and even underwent a liver transplant due to the same problem.
“The legacy of [David] will live on his legendary music,” the guitarist’s wife wrote.
