Boavista with the procedure for possible non-provision of documentation

The Disciplinary Board (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced on Tuesday that it had opened proceedings against I League side Boavista for possible failure to provide documentation related to budget control.

In a statement published on the official website of the FPF, the professional section of the organization says that the lawsuit brought against the residents of Porto was initiated on Wednesday, two days before it reached the Commission of Instructors of the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP).

Fonte do Boavista told Lusa that the process is due to the delay in reporting for the 2022/23 financial year, which was delayed due to the public procurement proposal (OPA) carried out by the company in the summer of 2023.” Jogo Bonito”, the “checkered” shareholder of Gerard Lopez, more than 49.22% of the share capital of SAD.

According to the same source, this situation has already been resolved, while the Bessa emblem is paying off unpaid salaries in its structure and needs to pay off debts in order to unblock the ban on the registration of new athletes dictated by FIFA.

At a press conference on Friday, Boavista President Vitor Murta said two months’ wages for the team in question would be “fully regularized” by the end of the day, a reaction to the non-compliance condemned by the LPFP.

On December 20, the organization announced that Boavista from the I League, as well as Leixões and Liank Villaverdense from the mid-tier, had not fulfilled the obligation to prove by the 15th that there were no salary arrears in September, October and November.

The three companies have been given an additional 15 days, which ends on Wednesday, to resolve this situation under penalty, according to the LPFP Disciplinary Regulations, of a deduction of two to five points in the tests in which they participate.

In September, Boavista and Lenc Villaverdense already required an additional period to demonstrate the absence of debts in May, June, July and August.

Salary delays at the Porto club led to the cancellation of training sessions on September 30 and October 1 at the request of the medical department and Bessa Stadium staff, who had already had to pay for three months.
