European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell is taking part this Wednesday in the first day of the Diplomatic Seminar in Lisbon, an annual meeting between the foreign minister and Portuguese diplomats to discuss foreign policy priorities.
The start of work will be ensured by Foreign Minister João Gomes Craviño, who will “take stock of a year marked by constant international challenges,” according to a note from Palacio das Necessidades.
Still at the first meeting, the European Union’s (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy will speak at a time when the 27 countries face “multiple structural challenges to the future of the Union, at internal levels and external ones, such as eastward enlargement, as well as questions that require urgent and new answers, bringing to the fore on the international stage the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MNE) said in the same note.
