The PSP arrested a 32-year-old man for firing several shots from a moving car in the Fonte da Moura area of Porto this Sunday.
The shooting began at 10:40 on Rua Caetano de Melo in Gaia. There were no reports of injuries. Authorities are investigating the possibility that it was an account settlement.
At the scene, police officers determined that the suspect, who was driving a car, tried to escape before police presence.
“Failing to comply with the necessary road safety precautions,” the man collided with a car, immobilizing himself, the PSP press release added.
“During the measures taken by the police, we were able to intercept and detain the suspect. There was a firearm (pistol) in the car, as well as various ammunition and items that were seized.
A source from the PSP Metropolitan Command in Porto told Lusa that at 10:40 the subject fired several shots from a firearm along Rua Caetano de Melo in Vila Nova de Gaia and fled.
Hours later, the same man fired more shots near Bairro da Fonte da Mura in Porto.
The PSP eventually arrested a 32-year-old suspect living in Porto at 1:15 pm at the intersection of Rua do Lidador and Rua Fonte de Moura after registering an investigation.
