In his remarks, the Secretary of State underlined the resilience of the Guinea Customs General Directorate despite “a national and international context characterized by a slowdown in production and trade caused by the covid-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine. “.
João Alberto Jata also emphasized that the “results achieved” in 2022 are related to the reforms carried out, asking to continue to make efforts to protect citizens from “illegal trafficking in human beings”.
“Income mobilization requires employees to adhere to ethical standards of behavior. In addition to ethics and integrity, discipline with a higher hierarchy is fundamental, ”the Secretary of State emphasized.
“I want to call on the customs authorities to apply disciplinary sanctions to eradicate practices that harm the interests of users and jeopardize the achievement of goals,” he insisted.
Customs Director General Domenico Sanca defended a “coherent and efficient” system of administration and said he would deepen reforms to increase government revenue.
