The Mozambique government has set a goal of making the country one of the leaders in hydrogen production in southern Africa by 2030 as part of the Energy Transition Strategy (ETS), which Lusa had access to this Friday.
“Mozambique has great potential to develop the hydrogen industry thanks to its rich resources. The country has abundant resources of hydroelectricity, natural gas, solar and wind energy that can support the production of all types of hydrogen, especially green hydrogen,” the document begins by pointing out a specific program for this production.
“In addition, the energy generated from these sources can be available at a relatively low cost, making hydrogen produced in Mozambique more competitive in international markets,” it also highlights.
