The body of a woman was found this Sunday lifeless at the dam. Fagildein Penalva do Castelo, Viseu district.
The body has been seen by members of the public and all indications are that it belongs to the woman who went missing this morning.
A source from the Viseu-Dau-Lafoynes subregional command for emergencies and civil protection said the alarm was raised at 12:15 pm to search and rescue people in the Vila Corsa area in Povolid, Viseu.
Divers, volunteer firefighters and GNR personnel were at the scene.
GNR will now take steps to investigate the cause of the accident.
According to the website of the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority, there are 15 operators on site supported by seven vehicles.
