Spanish telecom operators have not yet received a court order issued on Saturday to suspend the social network Telegram for using copyrighted content without permission, industry sources told EFE.
Spanish National Court Judge Santiago Pedras has given telecom operators three hours to suspend the Telegram app in Spain, a period that will count from the date of receipt of the judicial notice, according to a judge’s ruling published on Saturday.
The social network continues to operate in the country, and the court’s decision was criticized by various sectors: from the Council of IT Engineers to the Spanish consumer organization, the parties Vox and Podemos, as well as experts in the digital sector.
