Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called ties with China strong and significant, the Economic Times newspaper reported on April 10.
Modi, in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek, said that India is committed to constructive interaction with China both at the military and diplomatic levels. He expressed hope that peace would be restored on the border between the two states.
“I am convinced that we urgently need to resolve the protracted situation on our borders so that the anomalies in our bilateral relations can be left behind.”“Modi said.
He stressed that stable and healthy relations between Beijing and New Delhi are important not only for them, but also for the entire region and the world.
Let us remember that militaries of two countries clashed in eastern Ladakh. Following this, both India and China increased troop concentrations along the border.
Recently, the parties appear to have agreed to withdraw troops.
