The 32-year-old Brazilian woman was detained by the SP as part of an investigation into crimes related to kidnapping, robbery, possession of prohibited weapons and money laundering committed in Lola and Albufeira in August 2023.
It concerns the kidnapping of an 82-year-old Albufeira nightlife businessman who was attacked and threatened with a gun.
The victim was taken by car from Almancil, Loule, to Barcelona, where he was tied to a tree in a deserted area. He managed to run out onto the road and ask for help.
He was robbed of 100 thousand euros through several bank transfers from his account to others opened by the suspects.
Last December, the SP, in collaboration with Spanish authorities, had already arrested seven men and two women suspected of kidnapping and being part of a money laundering network.
All of them are in pre-trial detention center.
