Vostochny Cosmodrome is being adapted to receive returning launch vehicles

The Vostochny cosmodrome will be modernized to accept the new Korona returnable launch vehicle, Roscosmos director Yuri Borisov said on April 22 at a meeting with students of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI).

Let us remember that the reusable rocket project has been developed in Russia since 1992, but in 2012 it was frozen. At the same time, in the United States, SpaceX managed to implement the principle of reusable use of the first stage on the Falcon launch vehicle.

In 2017, the reusable light rocket project was unfrozen in Russia. It is assumed that the Russian rocket will be able to ensure smooth takeoff and landing. This will allow its use for manned interplanetary flights.
