The problems of placing abandoned animals in a private zoo in the village of Ashtyr in Sochi are under the control of the environmental prosecutor’s office, the press service of the Krasnodar Territory prosecutor’s office said on the Telegram channel on February 5.
“The Sochi Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, together with specialists from the regulatory authorities, the reserve and the national park, are taking measures to accommodate the animals that were previously on the territory of the Safari Park in Sochi”says the message.
Prosecutors said the animals had been examined by veterinarians. Pets are in satisfactory condition. According to media reports, they were temporarily placed at the premises of the Sochi Geographical Society.
Earlier it became known that the owners of the park abandoned more than a hundred animals, including small predators, birds, camels, rabbits, raccoons, bears and other animals. Some of them died, some of the animals fled into the forest.
