Jack Carter Road, 30, one of the surfers killed in Mexico, had planned to marry his girlfriend Natalie Wirtz this summer.
According to New York PostThe wedding was scheduled for August 17, and last month the woman already celebrated a bachelorette party with friends in Florida.
The couple also shared photos of the marriage proposal on social media.
“After the heartbreaking loss of Carter Rode, Callum Robinson and Jake Robinson, our hearts ache for their families, friends and community,” organizer Aubrey Byers wrote on the GoFundMe site Sunday.
Recall that the American went to Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, to go surfing with his Australian friend Callum Robinson and brother Jack Robinson.
After news of their disappearance, three bodies of surfers were found in a well with gunshot wounds. The men were kidnapped and then killed.
The attackers intended to steal the car’s tires, but the victims resisted, resulting in their deaths.
