The medical team at the Vologda State Regional Clinical Hospital in Russia discovered that the girl had a 20-centimeter-long metal spoon in her stomach. According to Mirror the girl swallowed the item during lunch and went to the hospital with abdominal pain.
Doctors ran several tests to try to understand what was causing the pain. When they analyzed the X-rays, the spoon was clearly visible inside the patient’s abdomen.
According to the doctor, whose words are quoted Mirror“The girl was immediately subjected to endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract – examination of the stomach with a video endoscope, which helped doctors confirm the diagnosis.”
The spoon was then removed from the stomach through the esophagus, and hospitalization was not required as the girl was healthy.
