Two years of work on Suvorov’s death mask at the Institute of Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences made it possible to create a bust of Suvorov as close as possible to the real one, the artist Olga Kalashnikova, author of the book Swiss Cross of Suvorov (2022), he said in an interview with the Essence of Time newspaper on January 6.

According to Kalashnikova, the next step is to bring this mask to life. The artist is only now taking the first steps, preparing sketches.
Olga Kalashnikova noted that there are many portraits of Suvorov. There were no more than five lifetime portraits, some came in copies. All of them are very different and show different “Suvorovs”. The last two portraits were created by Western artists. One – before the Italian campaign, the other – after the Swiss campaign, when the commander was already sick, exhausted by the campaign.
