
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Chairman of the Germany-Transcaucasia Friendship Group of the German Bundestag, Johan Wadephul, during his working visit to Germany on February 6, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. External relationships.
As it became known, Mirzoyan spoke about the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, which began in the republic in connection with the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijani “eco-activists”, the only highway connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia.
He stressed the importance of concrete steps for the unblocking of the Lachin corridor by the partner states. The parties highlighted the value of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Germany, as well as cooperation on multilateral platforms.
Representatives of Armenia and Germany also noted the importance of mutual visits by friendship groups working in the parliaments of both countries. The parties touched on the issues of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, in particular, ways of supporting democratic reforms in Armenia were discussed. Stability issues in the Transcaucasus were also discussed, including a new long-term EU follow-up mission in Armenia.
Questions were also raised about the Armenian-Turkish deal.
During his visit to Berlin, Mirzoyan also spoke at a round table at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, where he raised these issues.
