A stand collapsed at the University of Lisbon stadium on Saturday afternoon, injuring at least 10 people. The victims were taken to Santa Maria Hospital, three of them in serious condition. The victims ranged from 31 to 82 years old.
The incident occurred in one of the pavilions of the complex, where a sporting event organized by the school was taking place. According to CMthe chairs came off the bench and the victims fell backward, falling from a height of about one and a half meters.
The head of the sapadors said that a check was carried out at the scene the day before the event.
At 16:00 the Sapadores regiment and INEM mobilized resources to the site. PSP was also called to the scene.
