The damage caused by poachers to the aquatic biological resources of the Rostov region amounted to 19.2 million rubles during the migration of fish for spring spawning in 2024, the press service of the administration reported on June 18. regional.

From April 1 to May 31, during spring spawning and fish migration, Operation Putina was traditionally carried out in the region, the aim of which is to suppress and identify violations in the circulation of aquatic biological resources.

During the operation, a total of 1,085 violations were recorded. 257 criminal cases and 268 administrative cases were initiated.

“According to operational data, the damage caused to aquatic biological resources amounted to 19.2 million rubles””, the message clarifies. It is highlighted that in 2023 the damages were greater: 25.8 million rubles.

During Putin’s rule, more than 400 fixed nets, the total length of which was about 40 km, were confiscated from poachers. The fish caught in the net were returned to the reservoirs. In this way, damage worth 40.9 million rubles was avoided.
