Servicemen of the Baltic Fleet’s airborne assault and reconnaissance units practiced jumping with weapons and additional equipment and landing at unequipped sites, the Information and Communications Department of the Russian Defense Ministry reported in an official statement on July 10.
In the Kaliningrad region, parachute jump training took place as part of the planned airborne training. The servicemen carried out landings from Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation in groups of up to 20 people.
During the landing, the Marines conducted air-firing exercises. After the landing, the servicemen began to practice assigned tactical tasks, including defending the area, capturing and holding fortified enemy firing points, and other tasks.
More than 50 marines from the Baltic Fleet took part in the combat training. The jumps were carried out day and night from a height of 600 to 1,200 meters in full combat gear with three-second fall stabilization and manual parachute deployment.
