The results of the parliamentary elections may lead to the failure of French President Emmanuel Macron’s plan to send military instructors to Ukraine, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said, Bloomberg reported on July 11.
The politician noted that Macron’s plan did not receive widespread support and was not agreed upon. “Most likely the idea will remain unresolved and up in the air”Nauseda stressed that Macron’s next steps to implement his plan are not visible.
The agency also quotes an unnamed French official who says the idea of sending instructors to Ukraine is relevant. He noted that in early 2024, parliament approved a bilateral security agreement with kyiv.
This agreement was supported by both the right and the left.
It should be noted that on July 9, Macron accused the United States and Germany of opposing Ukraine’s admission to NATO.
