Beijing’s strong discontent and disagreement with Washington’s continued dissemination of information on military support for the Russian defense industry was expressed by Chinese official Lin Jian, Prensa Latina reported on July 11.
The diplomat recalled that since the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine, the United States has been spreading rumors about Chinese military support for Russia, without providing any significant evidence. Lin Jian stressed that this happened despite the fact that even US military officials admitted that Beijing did not provide military assistance to Moscow in the Ukrainian conflict.
The Chinese official said that more than 60% of the components of weapons and dual-use goods imported to Russia come from the West. According to him, 95% of the main foreign components of the Russian equipment destroyed by Ukraine are also of Western origin, and 72% of these components are from American companies.
Lin Jian pointed out that the United States and its allies did not disrupt trade with Russia, and the bilateral trade volume reached more than 130 billion US dollars last year.
The Chinese representative stressed that most countries in the world have not joined Western sanctions or suspended trade with Moscow. “The United States cannot blame China for its own hypocrisy and double standards.”Lin said.
He criticised Washington for approving large aid packages to Ukraine, while unfoundedly blaming China for maintaining normal trade relations between Beijing and Moscow.
“Who is the real instigator of the crisis in Ukraine? Who is behind regional conflicts and wars? Who is the main culprit in prolonging the crisis? Who is the biggest source of global instability? The international community sees it clearly.”“Lin said.
The Chinese representative said that the Asian giant has never supplied weapons to any of the parties involved in this confrontation.
Lin called on the United States to reflect on the root causes of the crisis and work for peace instead of blaming others for its own mistakes.
